Meals on Wheels

No one should struggle to get their meals on the table, least of all elderly or disabled folks who need good nutrition the most. That’s why we created our Meals on Wheels Program. Every week, we deliver over 3,000, healthy meals to primarily homebound seniors and disabled people in San Mateo and Santa Clara County who are unable to cook and shop for themselves. In providing this meal delivery service, we help make it possible for seniors and disabled folks to live independently.

Eliminate Food Insecurity

We deliver weekday meals in addition to some on holidays and weekends for those who are eligible. Program availability is based on circumstance, not income, with housebound adults being eligible. Meals on Wheels provides at least ⅓ of the daily recommended nutritional intake. We keep strict health standards to ensure meals hit nutritional requirements and contain few additives like salt and sugar.

Direct Health Monitoring

Receiving meal delivery services has the added benefit of getting a daily wellness check. Staff & volunteer delivery personnel are trained in safety and wellness checks and are alert to immediate safety concerns.

Assessment and Referral

We don’t just deliver meals — we use meal delivery as an opportunity to help client’s maintain their health. Our staff tracks data to monitor each client’s nutritional health status via in-home assessments. We offer an initial assessment upon enrollment and re-assessments every six months. We may also refer you to additional services if needed.
